The Best Instagram Spots In Venice Beach, Los Angeles

When I first came to Venice Beach, I realised the insta game is on a WHOLE other level here. I saw people with 2 camera guys and one guy holding a reflector, I saw props, I saw dogs getting involved in the shoot. Every day I'd jog through Venice and have to actively try and avoid ruining people's shots with my sweaty mug bombing into it. Anyway, here's a bunch of the best instagram spots in Venice Beach.

Venice Canals

The Venice Canals are a picturesque little escape from the hustle and bustle of Venice Beach. There are a bunch of bridges you can sit on and snap a photo, just make sure you go when the water level is high for the best photos, and if you're lucky you may spot some ducklings.

Venice Pride Lifeguard Tower

What started as an installation to celebrate LGBT Pride Month, has now earned itself a permanent spot on Venice Beach thanks to activists who petitioned to retain the paint scheme. Sheila Kuehl, who helped sponsor the lifeguard tower, said "At a moment when human rights for many communities in this country are under threat, this dramatic artistic and political statement on Venice Beach offers people in Los Angeles a clear statement of inclusion."

Hotel Erwin

The rooftop bar on Hotel Erwin is the perfect place to watch the sunset and get a few photos overlooking the beach. Whilst you don't need to make a reservation for the seated areas around the perimeter, if you're going at a busy time it may be worth it.

Venice Sign

I lived pretty much opposite the Venice Sign for a month, and every day I saw hundreds of people running into the middle of the intersection to snap a photo. Per go, you probably have around 5-10 seconds to snap the perfect photo before the traffic lights turn green again, so I hope your acceleration is good.

The Piece Collective

The Piece Collective is a beach bungalow boutique (10 points for alliteration Sam) found on the trendy Abbot Kinney. Walking down Abbot Kinney you'll find a number of insta worthy walls to get an insta shot in front of, including the Angel Wings outside What Lifts You.

Love Wall @ Joe’s Pizza

Probably one of the most popular insta walls on Venice Beach is the Love Wall @ Joe's Pizza. That's all I have to say about this one. It's a painted wall.

Gingerbread Court

Once occupied by Snapchat, Gingerbread Court is a charming little shopping area on the Venice Beach Boardwalk.  Make sure you're not blocking anyone and grab a photo in front of the charming entrance. Damn I used the word charming twice.

Venice Beach Palm Trees

This one's pretty simple. There are loads of palm trees on Venice Beach, find a handful you like, take a photo in front of them.

Venice Basketball Courts

Firstly, make sure you're not completely getting in the way of a Basketball game, after all, team building and staying fit is more important than your damn insta photo. But if a court is free, jump on, if possible grab a basketball, and pretend to look like you know what you're doing.

Sam's Bonus Location!

Venice Plants

If you're too broke to make it to Joshua Tree, Venice Plants is a good alternative.
